Limerick Marching Bands 2017
Limerick hosts an international marching band competition each year on the nearest Sunday to St. Patrick’s Day. The competition draws a large entry from bands who have travelled to Ireland to take part in one of the many St Patrick’s Day parades held around the country. The competition usually draws a large crowd and the bad weather in 2017 didn’t deter the thousands of spectators who braved the heavy rain to cheer on the bands. The overall winner in 2017 was Illinois State University.
